My experience with Dr. Horn and his staff was INCREDIBLE! I want to thank everyone for the breast augmentation procedure that I went through. From the beginning consultation, where we discussed my goals and vision, to the post-recovery room after surgery, the staff presented patient-centered care was amazing. This was my first surgery, and everyone displayed a welcoming, warm personality throughout the entire process. Because of how thorough everyone was, they truly helped alleviate my worries. Dr. Horn is very knowledgeable and helps you decide on which implant to choose. I didn't know this before but choosing an implant is based on your body's dimensions and what your goal looks like. That determines the type of implant with sizing and profile.
When choosing an implant, you also have to think about if you want a saline or silicone implant. Silicone has a more natural look and feel. Saline is also an option and is filled with sterile saltwater. It is FDA-approved for breast augmentation and reconstruction. Dr. Horn explained all of this thoroughly, so I knew exactly how to weigh my options and what he thought was best for my personal goals and needs.
On surgery day, I found out that the person that was going to pick me up post-surgery had to stay later at work that night. Thankfully, Dr. Horn was very accommodating and was able to put me two hours later to be his last surgical case for that evening. I was able to wait in the room I was in and watch Netflix and listen to music to pass the time. Once it was my time for the procedure, the anesthesiologist came in to assess me. He was super funny and laid back. Having humor definitely lightens a patient's mood, and I was fortunate I had this anesthesiologist. He was able to calm my worries from the very start of surgery. He explained what he would be doing so I would know what to expect. Whenever I would ask him to explain it again, he kindly did so and had no problem. The surgical staff and Dr. Horn made me feel comfortable and at ease. That makes the patient-healthcare provider connection even more meaningful.
Post-surgery care also went very well. I don't remember much (haha) due to general anesthesia but what I do remember is when the PACU staff talked to me in such a positive manner. I could tell from their tone of voice that they were called to the job they are in. They truly cared about me as the patient. Messages were answered, and everyone made me feel like I was taken very good care of. I was excited to find that I had minimal pain and the post-care instructions were explained to me clearly. I didn't have to worry about trying to figure out what to do; everything was simple and to the point. The experience was not scary at all, and I will definitely get another procedure done by Dr. Horn once needed in the future.
He offers other procedures like mommy makeovers, liposuction, and Brazilian butt lifts. Breast augmentation pairs well with many of his other procedures. It's common for patients to want a breast lift with implants or fat grafting to the breasts along with liposuction of the waist and abdomen.
I am in fitness and recently competed in a bikini bodybuilding competition. This is one of the reasons why I decided on breast augmentation. The sport requires intense training with cardio. From that, you lose breast size during the last few weeks of bikini prep because of the weight loss. I also never have trouble with weightlifting with my new girls. It's important to follow the doctor's instructions not to lift weights, especially my upper body, until a few weeks after surgery since everything is still fresh and new.
Lifting weights could result in shifting of the implants, and that's not something you want to happen. It's important to watch your physical activity after breast augmentation because you don't want to put too much strain on your body as it's healing, which could lead to complications.
Overall, I fell in love with the results. I feel so comfortable and more confident in my body. As you know, it takes a lot sometimes to feel good about your body. This has definitely skyrocketed the way I see myself. I was someone that was not blessed with boobs, and it weighed on me, especially because I'm so into fitness and physical appearance. I highly recommend Dr. Horn to anyone that is planning to get breast augmentation. He was extremely professional, polite, and always on point during the entire journey with the office.
